About us

Riemann Robotics was founded in 2026 by two brothers from Berlin: Sven Fritsch (left) and Alexander Fritsch (right).

Among other roles, Sven brings experience as a minimum-wage cashier at the Mauermuseum – Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie (https://www.mauermuseum.de/en/start/). In this position, Sven developed strong cashiering and point-of-sale (POS) system proficiency, honed cash-handling accuracy and end-of-day reconciliation skills, and gained experience managing high-volume tourist traffic in a fast-paced environment. The role also required effective customer service and communication skills when interacting with international visitors, as well as the ability to provide brief historical information about the museum, demonstrating adaptability and product knowledge under pressure.

Alex has a background working as a cashier at EDEKA Posselt (https://www.edeka.de/maerkte/408925/) and as a waiter at Tegeler Seeterrassen (https://tegeler-seeterrassen.de/). At EDEKA, Alex cultivated expertise in grocery checkout operations, inventory awareness, and customer service in a retail setting, learning to handle bulk transactions, manage queue efficiency during peak hours, and resolve customer inquiries professionally. As a waiter at Tegeler Seeterrassen, Alex further expanded his skill set by mastering full-service restaurant operations, including order taking, food and beverage service, table maintenance, and upselling techniques. This role also sharpened Alex’s teamwork abilities in a coordinated kitchen-dining room environment, strengthened multitasking skills during busy service periods, and enhanced interpersonal communication for handling special requests and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Together, these experiences have equipped both Sven and Alex with transferable competencies in cash management, customer relationship building, operational efficiency, adaptability to diverse work environments, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure, customer-facing roles (of being CEO and CTO of an early-stage deep-tech startup).

Riemann Robotics is a spin-off from the Computer Vision Lab at Technical University Berlin.

Who was Riemann?

Riemann Robotics is named after Bernhard Riemann (1826–1866). He was a German mathematician who made fundamental contributions to analysis, number theory, and differential geometry. Despite his short life and a relatively small number of published works, his impact on modern mathematics and physics is immense.

Key Contributions:

  • Riemannian Geometry: He introduced the concept of manifolds and curvature, moving beyond the “flat” Euclidean geometry that had dominated for centuries. This work provided the mathematical foundation for Albert Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity.
  • Complex Analysis: He developed the theory of Riemann surfaces, which allowed mathematicians to treat multi-valued functions as single-valued functions on a geometric surface.
  • Number Theory: He formulated the Riemann Hypothesis, one of the most famous and important unsolved problems in mathematics, concerning the distribution of prime numbers.
  • Integration: The Riemann Integral remains the standard definition of the integral in introductory calculus and analysis.

Legacy:

Riemann is remembered as a visionary who saw mathematics as a tool to describe the underlying structure of the physical world. His ability to connect abstract geometry with physical reality makes him a fitting namesake for a company dedicated to navigating the complexities of the real world.
